I’m Miracle Fargher - I’m the person behind the lens! A cinematic documentary style photographer currently based in New Zealand. I’m a proud Samoan Island girl who has many interests and big dreams. I come from a big family and I’m the baby. I’m married to a loving and patient husband who will occasionally help as a second shooter.

I have a deep love for visual arts, museums, farmers markets, beach sunsets and music.  I believe love in its purest forms - the kind that lives between words, my culture and people who raised me.

Why Sonder?

I grew up in a big Samoan family where storytelling is everything. At dinner tables, in music, dancing and in old photos. Sonder is the realisation that every person you pass has a life as vivid and complex as your own. I named my business Sonder because that’s how I want to photograph. We’re all the main characters of our own story and my job is to capture yours with intention. The love, the emotion, the in between - even parts no else sees.

This work is my way of honouring that. Of slowing down. Of seeing you fully.
